Man thats a good one. Have you a manual to look at the wiring harness to check the wire colors that go to whatever i.e.(Brake light switch).
First thing you need to find out is that during them taking your radio did they cut any wires that go to the combination switch under the steering wheel.

Start there with looking at the wires with a manual to check the color of wires and let me know.
