Thumbs down 93 escort timing belt problem

I recently tried to replace the timing head gasket on my 93 escort with a 1.9.
The car idles fine now but doesn't have enough power to even move. I noticed that when I pulled the head that the arrow I thought I was lining up was not the correct one. and I was 180' out. to correct the problem I thought I would move the camshaft sprocket one half a revolution and the crank sprocket one revolution. I then bolted it all back together and started it. It fired right up and sounded good. I took it for a test drive and once I hit a slight hill it almost didn't make it up. I barely made it home and when I got there I popped the hood and saw the catalytic converter was glowing red hot.
I have rechecked the timing belt to make sure that the marks were lined up and they were. I would appreciate any help on this as it is my only car right now and I really need it to get to work. Thanks anyway but... I figured it out myself. Who needs you people.
