I gave up on him. He thinks disconnecting it will tell him that it isn't the problem. Yes he should apply vacuum to the EGR while the engine is running and observe what happens. That will tell him if the passages are plugged. If the engine stalls they are not. Next he would have to check the solenoid at the rear of the intake to see if it is in fact applying the vacuum to the valve. then he needs to scan the PID for the DPFE and see what it reads and does. Will he? Nope...he will just report that he disconnected it and it still pinged.
