my 89 t-bird had the same problem...there is a red and there a white wire going to the inertia switch...just get a crimpt and put it back together...reset the car and push the switch back. The switch is in case of accidents, it shuts off all fuel supply so no fire. But just to let you know too...my bird also screwed up becuase the switch on top of the fuel pump (on top of the gas tank) was melted and only worked sometimes...i put a new one on and now it runs like a champ..never takes more than one second to start
