My Escort is not equipped with A/C and has a manual transmission.
I never hear the fan come on.
When idling in slow traffic, the temp gauge starts climbing past the middle mark.

Is it supposed to have a 2 speed fan ?

I disconnected the fans 3-pin connector.
Then I applied +12 V by first disconnecting the battery.

Pins

A- fan -hi
B- fan -lo
C- ground


By jumpering pin B to +12V, nothing happens.
Pin A gives max fan speed.

Using the ohm-meter, the resistance is as follows:

A-B open circuit
A-C ~ 1 ohm

Where should I look next ?
