This issue with a buzz noise from the radio on a 1998 ford expedition if everything else is working it is the main apmlifier which is located in the dash below and behind the radio. The center consel has to be removed in order to remove the amplifier. The consel is removed by taking off the top of it 3 screws and remove the bolt holding the wiring harness at the front of the consel then there are 4 bolts two are about center of the consel and 2 at the rear of the consel the rear ones need the seats moved to the front as far as they go then there is a cap same color as the consel that has to be removed. After the bolts are removed pull the consel back about 2 to 3 inches and it should be loose lift it up and out. There are 3 bolts that hold the amp in two are right above the opening at the bottom of the dash were the consel came out the other can be accessed through the dash down from the radio opening. |
