Exclamation 1997 T-Bird 3.8 EFI

Hello there, i am new here and hope to be able to help some of you guys with some probs at some point. I am an experienced mech, and like to talk things through when i get stumped. My son bought a 97 t-bird and it misses and skips bad. it is a v-6 and seems to not fire at all on two cylanders, fires somewhat on two cylanders, and fires great on the last two. Now if it were a worn eng. or timing, or mechanical, i would expect to find a rich exhaust. yet it seems to burn clean..... WTF??? so i seem to be stumped. It also runs better when she has a massive vaccuum leak, ie. unplug the vaccuum booster and leave it open... WTFF????? so i have come to think it might be the computer not signaling the (or some of) the injectors.... now i can test it when my son gets her back together, but id like to know if the darn thing has more than one computer... i know the older multiports had a different systen which some manufacturers used a seperate computers to controll the fuel inj. so is this the case here or is it just the same ecu??? Thanks for your time. Brian
