Greetings,

I want to go from a 289 to the original 260. I have a 1963 Comet S-22 Sportster hardtop. I bought it thinking it had the original 260, but turns out it is a 289. It has a factory four-speed. The transmission is still original. I am no mechanic, but it looks like it matched up for me. Not sure on this, but maybe it might help.
