I have a 97 Ranger 4x4 SuperCab I bought 5 years ago with 138,000 km. It is now at 230,000 and still solid. The only problems I have had were the front hubs and intake gasket (4.0L).
I was lucky on the hubs. Ford wanted $695.00 per side plus labor, for complete spindle and control arm assemblies. Fortunately mine was early production and had serviceable hubs, I installed Warn units for a LOT less than that.
