Update:
got my Tribute back from the dealer. They performed two flash updates..one for the "hoot", and another for the shifting program. The driveline whine issue...they are ordering the damper bolt and will install in next week. Given that mine is a V6, this seems to contradict wptski's service (ie that the bolt is for 2.5l only). I have not seen the TSB so I don't know for sure but will welcome any "fix".
OT:
Initial impression is that the hoot is gone/greatly diminished, and that the shift program is considerably different. Most notable is the light throttle operation, it does not rev so high...shifts 1-2-3 at about 2500 rpm (used to be 3000-3500 rpm), rpms seem to be more stable when in gear, and the shifts are firmer. Very notable change in the 2-3 shift, it happens much sooner and firmer than in the past.
I'll put some more varied miles on it over the weekend and update if anything changes, but so far I think it resolved those issues. |
