This is not true Longbowlio.
I run 285/75R16 Dunlop Rover AT tires on stock aluminum rims.
They have been on the vehicle for 52,000 miles and have no adverse tread wear patterns. The tech at the shop told me he has put 305/75R16 tires on the same rims but the centers do wear out quickly because they don't fit right.
P.S. If you put load "D" range tires on your Expedition, run at least 45psi. Don't listen to the idiots at the shops that tell you to put 35psi in them. This is the pressure for the stock tires which are Load "C" range. The Expedition is very heavy for its size, it should have heavy truck tires on it. |
