My '04 Freestar is parked at the dealership as it is no longer safe to drive. Front wheel bearings/hubs are shot. There are no replacements available. I am paying for a vehicle I cannot drive!!! Nice!!!! I am faced with renting a vehicle at my own expense as the bearing/hubs have been replace once under the origional recall. The vehicle is off warranty.

The last time I drove the my van, I had the brakes lock up without touching the brake pedal. This happened on the freeway during rushhour........just luck that there wasn't a MAJOR WRECK!!!! I got off onto side streets and it happened again. Drove the rest of the way to the dealer at 30 km/h. Made some people mad at me but at least no accidents.

The Ford Dealer tells me that this is the fourth time that Ford has had to redesign the bearings and this is one of the reasons that the Freestar has been discountinued.

How......While I was cancelling my full insurance on this van, I had to explain to the adjustor what happened. I was told that had I been in an accident, my insurance would NOT have covered me as I was driving a DEFECTIVE VEHICLE.

Please feel free to copy this and take it to your dealer when you take your Freestar in to have it inspected.
