This is a big question. Is the car in pieces? Are you planing on having the rest of the car professionally painted? Has the interior been chemically stripped or bead blasted or is it still painted? Are you working indoors garage and such? What kind of ventilation is there is you are indoors?
All things being equal you can have aerosol cans of paint made to color match if you do not have the HVLP sprayer and the whole oxygen get up. Keep in mind that modern paints WILL kill you quickly. Lots of ventilation, a good mask with the right kind of filtration system for the air. I cannot stress enough how dangerous modern auto paint is not the rust oleum type stuff but the stuff you get from PPG and so on which is where you will end up if you want color matched paint. If you do not have any experience painting I would read ALOT of stuff first. For a good looking paint job the more prep you put into it the better it will look. There really is no such thing as a quick nice paint job. I figure this is a scary topic for everyone since this post has been around awhile with no reply plus there is no easy way to answer your questions.
I am not sure the type of paint they used in the factory but modern paints are better regaurdless. Color matching as i said is possible talk to someone at a local PPG shop. Lots of people DYI paint cars with varied results but it always boils down to patience and prep. Your welcome. Sorry I could not give you more information.
Thanks
