Question 2003 Expedition power driver seat not working.

Some of the driver's seat controls will not move seat. It moves forward and back, but does not appear to be moving up and down, nor tilting all the way. We have the 2 seat memory positions. My setting which requires it to go down does not work totally. Do I need a front seat control switch? Is there a diagram as to where I start looking? From searching the net it sounds like a very expensive fix to take it to a garage. I'm not a mechanic, but some things I may be able to figure out, just like I fixed the broken door handle on my dishwasher for only the cost of a $2.00 part. If it doesn't work, I figure I can't hurt it much more than it is already.

If I take it to a garage, how much should this cost?
