Default 95 F-150 differential help!!!!

im having trouble with my truck. i have bought a 95 F-150 4X4 5.0 8.8 axle. the pinion oil seal was leaking, and i had some playing in my drive shaft. when i tighten my pinion nut the yolk and plate and flange wont tighten down to the housing of the diff. i checked both front and back bearings and they seem fine but the shaft that runs thru the diff to the pinion gear has a lot of play in it. when i go forward the shaft sucks in and stays flush with housing but when i back up it sucks out and there is about an inch to two inch gap in between the housing and driveshaft mounting. im thinking about replacing the whole hub to hub assembly. any help out there. someone with a axle of advice how to fix mine??
