Hey there!
I have a 96 XLT and now the thing leaks gas whenever I'm filling it up at the pump. I've noticed this happens if the pump nozzle is resting to heavily in the tube. The leaking really starts though when the automatic shut-off clicks in and knocks the gas pump nozzle to stop the flow. At that point gas spills out from under the truck. I can usually keep smelling gas in that portion of the vehicle for a day or two later as it evaporates. This problem has gotten worse.
Does replacing the fuel filler hose solve this? How much is the current cost?
