Default Average fuel burn for the freestar 3.9Liter

Hi
Just purchased a 2004 freestar with 3.9 liter engine. the first 60 miles I drove on the parkway doing about 60-65 mph.The second 10 miles I drove local streets. A total of 70 mile driven.
My average milage was 21.85 per gal. My normal driving is half hyway and half city. I am averaging about 16.8 mpg, is this about right for this engine. I understand this van has a final 3.65 gear ratio. So far I love the freestar. Also I wish to purchase the shop manuals from Helms book co. Does anyone have any suggestions in this area?

Sincerely
Vince.Long Island NY:
