Default 97 F-150 Idle is High

Hello, I Am seriously Considering on Buying a 97 F-150 V8 351cc Ext Cab Short Bed Truck. I recently got the Chance to take it on a test Drive and the guy had told me it Ran rough, The Engine light was on and it ran smooth while going but when stopped or or in park it ran real Rough.(Let it go long enough without giving it some gas it would stall.) It is a new Engine he said that he had put in. Was wondering if anyone can give me any good ideas what it could be? I Appologize for the poor amount of information i could provide.
