Default AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH 99 RANGER 3.0 LTR

I HAVE A 99 FORD RANGER WITH A 3.0 LTR V6 AND A AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT SEEMS THAT IT IS SLIPPING WHEN CHANGING GEARS. IT ALSO WILL SOMETIMES GO INTO NEUTRAL WHEN GOING DOWN A HILL, NOT HOLDING ITSELF BACK. IT ACTS LIKE IT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT GEAR IT WANTS TO BE IN. IT ONLY HAS 75000 MILES ON IT AND EVERYTHING ELSE SEEMS FINE. ANY IDEAS?
