Outcome Good morning everyone!
Just wanted to let you all know that I picked up the Expedition from the dealership last night and hopefully this will be the end of the electrical isssues. After composing and sending an effective complaint e-mail correspondence to the dealership and Ford Motor Company I waited two days for a response. On the 2nd day I filed a formal complaint against both Ford and the dealership with the BBB and went to pick my vehicle up at the dealership. I instructed them not to repair anything on the vehicle because I intended on taking further action including contacting the local media investigative teams. When I arrived at the dealership that evening I asked to see the General Manager so that I could voice my disdain in person. He, in turn, told me that the Service Manager I had been dealing with was not the "top" person in that department and asked me to return the following day to speak with the appropriate personnel. I paid my $110.00 diagnostic fee for the ABS system and left. There were some items that made my husband and I suspicious if they actually even looked at the vehicle while it was there. First off they claimed to have tested the windshield for leaks and discovered the source as well as checking the fuse box and GEM module. Well the windshield did not appear to have been touched at all (for once it was good that there was dirt and dust both on the windshield and dash), second hubby had placed red electrical tape on either side of the fuse box cover to make sure the cover was secure and low and behold the electrical tape was undisturbed. We were both livid to say the least. Anyway the next day I went back to the dealership again and spoke with the GM as well as the "real" service manager who swore they did test the windshield and found a leak as well as visually inspected the fuse & GEM and saw evidence of water intrusion. In the meantime though my e-mail had been read by the owner of the dealership and instructed the service manager to make sure that my issues were resolved. They aplogized for allowing me to take my vehicle home the night before which they claim they never should have done due to the ABS issue not being resolved. I am sure it was some sort of liability issue. They took my vehicle back in on the spot and provided me with a rental SUV while mine was repaired. They told me that they were going to repair the issues at no cost to us and would fight it out with Ford themselves. That happened last Thursday. So on Friday night we go in to drop off hubby's 07 diesel SD for an oil change and while we were waiting our service advisor tells us that they had their windshield guys out today working on the Expedition for 2 hours and could not find one leak (hhhmmm the Ford guys supposedly found the leak prior)! Luckily there was not one management person left at the dealership at that time because that tidbit of info was straw that broke my back. The service manager wasn't in on Saturday so I had to wait until Monday to speak to him. He insisted the service advisor was mistaken when she told us that and that the Ford tech tested the windshield the previous Friday when it was in (yeah right). Anyway he said that the truck was apart and that the parts were due to be in that day and that the truck would be ready the following day. Sure enough I got a call yesterday morning saying the truck was finished. They replaced the windshield, the fuse box and the GEM module at no cost to us. They also refunded the $110+ for the diagnostic tests they did the week before. I am still composing a letter to Mr. Ford just to let him know how unhappy I am regarding this whole situation. Oh and Ford Customer Realtions has also changed their tune now that the Attorney General and the BBB contacted them and have called me three times already to confirm the vehicle has been reapired to my satisfaction and to let me know that that the dealership will eat the cost of the repairs (how fair is that?). I will let them know how satisfied I am after our next heavy rain.
Thanks again for all of your help here you guys arte the best!
Hope everyone has a great day!!!
