i would start off by running a can of seafoam through your PCV vacume line, change your PCV valve, then do a complete tune up. new plugs and wires. You should see your 6-10 MPG difference. My explorer 5.0 was getting 10 MPG and i was mad so i did all that and now if i drive with out a lead foot ( i got back alot of power too) it gets 15-18 easy. good luck.. Also, make sure your tire pressure is correct and avoid hard accelerations and quick stops. You can also go into some modding such as an intake anad exhaust, under drive pullies, synthetic fluids in your motor, tranny and differentals!! Good luck!
