My 06 Fusion will make a loud raspy noise during the first couple of seconds when starting cold. I live in the Caribbean, and a cold day down here barely falls below 70's or maybe the mid 60's in the winter months (US winter that is, no winter down here), I'd hate to hear it start in really cold weather and suspect something will break in near freezing temps.
To me it sounds like it's lacking lubrication and grinds a bit until oil is pumped throughout the engine, but that's just a thought. Unless there's already a TSB out to fix this, I doubt very much my Ford Dealership will get even close to fixing the real problem. They're experts keeping my car for weeks at a time while solving very little. |
