I have a 2000 Contour SE (automatic) with 120k miles. This all happened in the same day on my way to work. I can get up to 20mph. However when it tries to shift into the next gear, it starts bucking. It finally shifts gears. It does it again when I get to about 50mph. I was so afraid to slow down because I wasn't sure if I could gain speed again. I got to work but never made it home. I couldn't go past 20mph and it was bucking again. My check engine light came on and I could hear grinding. Therefore, I pulled over and called AAA. I don't know exactly what is wrong. Money is extremely tight. Autozone said they can put it on a computer and give me a code, but only when the check engine light is on. I start my car the other day and the light is not on. Has anyone had a problem like this? |
