I just bought a '91 F-150 with a 302 automatic. It apparently has a bad frost plug - I have not gotten under it yet though. The truck belonged to a local trucking company and was their mechanic's parts chaser and it was looked after fairly well. It has a dent in the side of the box and being as appearance is important to this outfit, they parked the truck when the frost plug let go and bought a newer truck that looked better. It has sat for a year and a half and the mechanic said that they had replaced both fuell pumps in the tanks just before parking it. I tried to fire it up yesterday and neither pump seems to want to work. The tanks have been pretty much siphoned dry ( kids... ) and I am wondering if there is a limit switch on these pumps so that they will not work once the fuel level drops below a certain point or can the seize up from sitting with hardly any fuel in the tanks? I checked the fuse and everything should work but the pumps seem dead. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
