I know you can check the tps, and make sure it reads around 0.6 on the yellow wire, when idling and in park. then you can adjust the IAC, then recheck the tps, to make sure you are getting a good reading. the reading should be between 0.45 - 0.65. If it is, then everything should be adjusted ok....the next place I would look, would be to find which part is causing the problem, maybe after you read the codes, it might make more sense.....You might also, want to check the EGR, making sure it's not sticking, will also, cause similiar symtom...hope this all helps.
