Default How do I tighten up my shifter handle?

Hi everyone,

I push snow with my 1997 Eddie Baure Expedition so as you can imagine lots of forward and reverse shift changes. My question is how do I tighten the shifter handle it is slightly loose and wiggles .

I know it can be done because about 4 years ago a mechanic said he had done one before and he climped under my dash with a big screwdriver. He reached up underneath with his arm way in there and just tapped something several times and the shifter was tight again. This mechanic is now gone and the one at the local garage printed out a diagram for me from a fords tec site and he told me you can't tighten that shifter..lol. I know it can be done as it was done once before. Do any of you know if I crawl under my dash with a big screwdriver what would I be looking for ? to tab and tighten the shifter handle?

thanks
David
