The transmission won't work, because it isn't strong enough, plus it wouldn't bolt up properly. You could get a 4R70W (automatic) transmission, which is what is usually behind the v-8's. I've also heard that a ZF5 manual transmission from a 5.0 bronco will work, but I don't know for sure.

Edit: I think a T45 from a mustang would work also, and that way it would be a 2wd transmission.
