Last summer we bought an 01 Tribute with 110,000 km. Over the first few weeks we made some highway trips and were getting about 9.5 l/100km (29.5 mpg imperial).
Shortly afterwards I changed the trans fluid, transfer lube and differential lube.
Into the fall and colder weather the mileage dropped - substantially.
In the real cold it was as bad as 20l/100km (14 mpg imperial).
Last weekend I changed the plugs, pcv and of course the upper manifold gaskets. No numbers yet - although the first indicators are better, the weather is also a lot warmer.
