I have a 1990 4 Liter automatic with the same problem as you. This started 2 weeks ago. Yesterday while driving in town the transmission returned to normal function where I could start from the drive position and the transmission shifted through all gears just fine. Today all was well till this evening and it returned to the must start in 2nd gear then manually shift to drive and all is well until you slow to a stop and must shift to 2nd to take off. Any ideas on what you think this problem is would be appreciated. Thanks to anyone who can help! |
