Default ABS modular

My abs light came on today in the 250 so i went to the ford dealer and it needs an abs modular well long story short they tried to con me into tranny flushes etc... and they want 1,000.00 to do it the part new is 800.00, how hard is this to do and has anyone ever done this? Ok well the reasion the light came on was because a little punk in a beetle. i had my plow on it and salter in it briniging it to storage so anyways long story short i was near public storage and i was coming up to a 2 way stop "cross traffic does not stop" so i didnt have to stop so i was going a good 45 and this moron decides to make a left turn so hes in front of me well apparently she dosent understand the concept of if something big is coming at your beetle fast, floor it so i had to jam the brake pedal to the floor and by the time i slowed down to the 25 she was going mind you the speed limit was 45 my abs light came on and well here i am.
