Default sticking gas pedel

I have a 2000 ranger with 130k miles. it has always had a minor sticking gas pedel problem, but it didn't bother me that much till one day as i was starting off at the light it stuck almost wide open..i shut the engine off, and discovered the throddle cable was freyed. i replaced it,($78 for a 2 ft. cable) but still have a slight sticking when coasting, then pressing the gas pedel..i have cleaned the intake throat, but it still persist's..anyone had this prob...oh ! it is a 4 cyl. engine..other than this minor irritation the truck is great !!
