Have a 1995 E350 econoline type III ambulance-- front wheel wobbling terribly, and found that upper ball joint was completely shot. The question is -- the front driver's side upper ball joint has a nut (adjusting or spindle?) on top side of it, but is absent on the front passenger's (the damaged one).
Bought new upper and lower ball joints, but upper does not have a nut, and threads just stick up (haven't installed yet). Am I missing a part, or is it O.K to install like this?
3 auto parts stores are unable to assist. May be a stupid question, but want it done right. Will be fixed by mechanic, but if a part is missing, need to know. Thanks!!
