Well, since all of the products out there are darker than I wanted..
Take a spray gun, and get some black paint, and some clear paint (like the small cans of rustolem). Mix them, and do test sprays, until it is the desired darkness. Then, spray the taillights. Be sure to hit it with multiple layers of clear for protection, and so they are glossy.
