Ken Ivy Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Posts: 1	2001 Escape - strange dinging every time car started 2001 Ford Escape 100,500 miles... love the car. PROBLEM: 5 days ago when we started the car - we had a strange dinging one ding every second for 5 seconds.... then a 5 second pause then 5 dinging again then another 5 second pause. This continued for 25 seconds (5 times).... then dinging stopped. After we had gone 25 miles it started all over again. Took to our local garage and they said because no check engine light is on they can't scan it. CAN ANYONE HELP??? What is causing this? - no it is a real ding and doesn't sound anything like a seatbelt ding
