Thanks for the reply. I have a 2000 windstar xl 3.8.

Before I take the door apart, I would like to check fuses, relays etc. but not sure which ones to check. My Haynes doesn't offer that info.

I can check fuses easily but I would probably need to replace a relay with another one to test. are all relays the same? could I swap one with another for testing purposes? which fuses and relays should I check?
