Hi I just came across this website searching in Yahoo. I'm in Montreal Canada and I have a 2001 Ford Focus ZTS. I love the car and I won't not give it up fro anything. I had a recent overheating problem. I had changed my Waterpump and this was not the problem but I had to change it because it was leaking. It was still overheating. I took it to Goodyear because the dealer can't find anyhting. They suck. Goodyear changed the waterpump again and checked the fan changed the thermostat, check all the hoses and the radiator. It was all fine. After a week and I did some searching because I had a Cavalier Z24 that got stolen but I stll had the Haynes repair book. I started to read about the cooling system and I forgot to check the coolant bottle cap. This acts like a thermostat. It has a seal in the Cap. I went to Napa and bought a new Cap for $40.00 canadian. Changed it tonight and took the car for a drive for about an hour and the temperature guage was normal. If take a look at you cap where you add coolant look at the inside and compare it to the new cap. You can clearly see the difference in the seal. Now my Focus does not over heat at all anymore. Next for me is completely changing the entire exhaust system. |
