I called an old crazy friend I hadnt talked to in awhile. He immediately identified the problem and came over and did a temporary fix. It was a tiny small plastic washer looking peice at the base of the shifting cable that broke. He fixed it with a tie wrap (in about 30 mins) and I was able to drive it for a week in which time I went to the ford dealership and bought the part. Unfortunatly the little plastic washer is part of the entire cable which is close to $100. Also you have to replace the entire cable because the washer isnt detachable. I took him the cable and he replaced it in about 2 hours. He said it was really difficult due to the location behind and towards the bottom of the engine.

Hope that helps you out.
