1 The Torx bolt is not needed, it is for the assemble line, to keep rotor in place. When you tighten the wheel it will hold it in place.

2 The rear pads are tiny compared to the front. The wear was a problem and Ford changed the materal in the pads. If you got 38,000 miles out of them you did twice as good as most.
