I've had my 08 for a few months and it just broke 4,000 miles. I'm not sure if it is the same noise, but whenever I accelerate I hear a faint rattling noise, metallic sounding. When I let off the gas, it goes away. It seems to be getting louder. Same with the engine drone. It just started a few weeks ago and seems to be getting louder. I only hear it when the Escape is going 60 mph+ and I am at that speed for a few seconds. If I have it on cruise control, it never goes away. If I let off the gas, it goes away. |
