I cut the corner off that piece of metal the comes off the corner of the frame and came out the bottom. I read somewhere on the web that you can remove the alternator and alternator bracket and come out the top. But the first alternator bolt I tried taking out seemed to be seized up and I was afraid of twisting it off so I gave up that approach. Once I cut that corner off it came out fairly easy and was not too hard to get back in. I think it would defintely beat removing the alternator.
