Default heater fan works intermittantly

I have a 1993 Ford Explorer. At time since the weather got warm my heater fan doesn;t work. It seems that when first started after sitting for several hours the fan will start and blow. After driving and turning off the vehicle then restarting the fan switch won't work and nothing. This has only started since the weather got warmer. any ideas. Checked the wires and controls everything seems okay.
