Thank you for all the posts. I just discovered that the problem was in the rear fan switch under the radio. I was able to unplug what I first thought was a two-wire cable from the back of the switch. I realized quickly these "wires" were vacuum lines. With the aid of a vacuum gauge I discovered that the white colored line was responsible for activating the rear a/c and shifting the air into the upper ceiling and side vents. Now I got the thing jimmy-rigged until I am able to order a part. My kids will now be cool through the summer.
