Sounds like a vacuum leak......look again. Use a mechanics stethascope. (A cheap version of a doctor's steth) or have a tune-up shop put your car on a Scope. They will do it cheap if you go to the right place. It's only a couple of hookups for the mech. and he can give you a hard copy of the results.
That is the shortest route between where you are and fixing your idling problem. Cheapest too......probably.
