Default shifter won't go into park
My 95 windstar shifter won't go into park, only reverse. I need to open the hood and pull the cable head into park then it will start. Can someone tell me how to adjust/fix this problem? I should of looked at all the posts but I am new here so please bear with me. Also check engine light has been on for a year. I'm scared to ask how much it costs to have it checked. Any help is appreciated in advance.
