Default 2005 Hybrid "Engine Too Warm" "Check Emissions Soon"

Hi all. We have a 2005 Escape Hybrid. Monday night the message center put up a message that said "Engine Too Warm". It later changed to "Check Emissions Soon"

I told my wife to take it in the next day (I was too busy at the time), but all messages were gone so she didn't.

Tonight they came back, and then this time it told her to "Safely Pull Over and Shut the Vehicle Off"

Any idea on what can cause this? I've done about 6 searches but haven't come up with anything concrete.

OF course it was about 85 monday night, only 55 Tuesday morning, and now about 92 degrees when it told her to shut it down.

Thanks a ton, Scott
