Hello, new to these forums. But registered in many with the same username.
I recently changed my 92 Crown Victoria's all Aluminium intake for a better performance plastic intake from a 97 Crown Victoria. There are many differences in the two even though they both fit on the same engine. I had to also use the intake plenum with throttle body of the 97 plastic intake. But I'm still using the original 92 wiring harness and switched many of the adapters form the 92 onto the 97 intake. The only connection that I can't get to fit is the Idle Speed Control Valve connection from the original 92 harness. But everything else is connected. Another difference that I saw was that the plastic intake is a bit thicker when it sits on the heads than the all aluminium. So I need to get longer bolts for them to reach deep into the heads to make a tight seal.
Well, all in all. I finished making the switch and I'm having trouble getting the engine to start. It actualy starts and turns and you can hear the combustion but in seconds the engine dies. I'm thinking its just a vacuum problem because I don't have the correct bolt length for the intake. Or maby my fuel pump is giving out. The fuel pressure is somtime 40 and other time 25 - 35.
Anyone else have any ideas?
