Unhappy Can't get clutch slave cylinder to bleed enough for proper clutch release.

1993 Ranger 4.0 5sp.
I have replaced the clutch master cyl. and the slave cyl. but just cannot seem to get it fully bled for proper disingagement of the clutch. Is there any special technique to get this accomplished?
I have followed the repair manual over and over but with no results. I can see thru the witness hole in the bellhousing that the slave cyl., when depressing the clutch pedal, pushes the pressure plate just slightly but not far enough.
I am totally exhausted with this-----------please, somebody help me!!!!
