Question Fuel Pump Replacement-1998 Ford Windstar

I am the wife of a handy do it yourself mechanic, but due to a liver Transplant 8 months ago he's unable to do any wrenching himself but needs me to get any answers from this forum (per internet) so that I can relay any diagrams(no money for actual repair manuals) or any answers to our 17 year old neighbor that is trying to help us .We need to know how to replace the fuel pump on a 1998 Ford Windstar Minivan,3.0 engine. He has replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs and ignition coil(the coil on the Auto Zone) clerks recommendation.Obviously this did't work, so , now out of $120 ,so now,by replacing the fuel filter, after he got the tool, the engine will start but sounds like it's not getting enoughgas. So now the hubby says he needs to replace the fuel pump. How hard is it to do? And can we get a diagram for parts?Thank you,We are living in Texas and if it wasn't for the cost to take it to a mechanic, I say junk it, I am the only breadwinner, and would rather spend my money on food or clothes, lol ....but I'm only the wife.......
