When you say that it doesn't catch, what do you mean?
I'm thinking that you mean the shifter level doesn't lock into park. If that is the case, I believe that there is a shift lever position sensor, or at least an adjustment for the lever.

If the lever is not in park or neutral, then the neutral safety switch will not allow the truck to start. The solution is to get the lever adjusted. IF that is your issue.
