Default Escape 08 fabric seats

I leased an '08 Escape about 3 months ago. It is silver sage with a light beige interior. The salesman at the dealership assured me that it was some new hardy fabric made out of recycled plastic bottles --- I was leery of the light color. There is now a large spot on the upper back center panel of the seat. I rarely have passengers and noticed the spot after I had some kids in car seats back there. Best I can figure is that it is from a damp towel from drying the kids off from running around in some city park play fountains. The towel was damp at best and rested there for a -10 minute car ride. The dealer's service staff blew me off today and after I picked up the car I noticed smudges all over the seat of one side of the car -- probably from the person trying to clean the spot. I was told that I should have treated the car with Scotchguard.

Has anyone had similar problems or know how to clean this upholstery?

Thanks.
